memories

well i am definitely procrastinating on everything i need to get done before i leave tomorrow fro Qatar

i was looking through all the old photos on my external hard drive. i have hoarded all my digital photos there, probably from junior year of high school until today. there are so many memories separated across a lot of folders. some i would like to forget but many i would love to go back to.
so i pulled out a few and thought i would share with you!


these are the actual photos i submitted in my afo portfolio.
this seems like forever ago. i worked on this project all spring break in richmond at a friends apartment and i remember the weather was so beautiful and it was the first time i rode a bike in the city and we sat on the porch all day and worked.
this was my favorite project from studio. i think its in pieces at my parents house right now
(and i drank 22 bottles of soda)

senior year of high school.
we werent allowed to decorate our caps but whitney and i wanted to so we decorated felt that velcro'ed to our caps. we never got in trouble and i still have a whole bag of unicorn foam stickers and my cap.



afo freshman year. our studio teacher took us to a house at libbie and grove of a couple who were really big on collecting art. their walls were covered with the most amazing pieces.
it was beautiful.
i almost thought i lost all the photos i had of this event and i just found them i am so glad!

my dad got me this starbucks sign that was at the corner near uva. it was solid wood and so heavy i didnt know what else to do with it so i made it a table in my already cluttered room. how did i live like this?

lately i have been in a phase where i figure if i am not buying any clothes i have the itch to fix something i dont wear to something i want to wear.

i got two pairs of jeans at uniqlo in nyc and the cut of them became my favorite.
so i figured i would apply this to other pants i dont enjoy wearing because of the cut.
the first pair to go under the needle were some american apparel cords that have been passed through a few hands and found themselves with me. after slimming them down they are now some of my "new" favorite pants.
tonight i went to work on two more jeans (more american apparels and some 20$ capital e's from a year ago that weren't very slim at all)

i also havent worked in imovie in a while and thought this would be a good opportunity for some play time with that.
so enjoy this five minute video of me sewing two pairs of pants with animal collective's 'brother sport'



on the same note, i have some graphic t's that i just cant part with but dont fit anymore, does anyone have any suggestions of good projects to give them a second life?

i post a lot of music here and on my secret tumblr
buuut
i just stumbled across this blog that has a section called "the pink couch sessions"
although its a hit or miss some of the songs are simply great!
they have all been stripped down and are filmed using some high quality equipment.
i am not in on the know of "underground" music so this was first hearing of all the bands.
you can download each song as a podcast and i recommend it if you are hunting for new music

heres a new fav.
they are so happy i love it!

in light of valentines day i thought i would share a video make for sequential 2.
granted the turn around time for this project was so fast and for some reason its running time is much longer than it should be (there is nothing hidden at the end i swear)
but i was happy with this project considering all the factors

they make me motivated for everything
anyways here is a video that gave me a headache but its too good
its from their live cd 'alive 2007'
and its a mash up of around the world and harder,better,faster,stronger
also they admit the idea was taken from the beastie boys live dvd 'awesome i fucking shot that' which was so fun to watch, and such a great concept, just look into it if you dont know what i am talking about

While i was procrastinating on work tonight and post-dinner at quizno's i saw that mike perry has a new book out. although i still don't own Hand Job: A Catalog of Type, i love mike perry and his style, makes me wish i had a style sometimes.

so this new book is so great and i was totally drawn (no pun intended) to every page.

Muse

so i am taking a small break from working on muse stuff for design center. muse being the annual fashion show put on by vcu. design center gets the fun job of doing all the collateral and sadly we are a bit behind schedule. but hopefully by the end of friday we will have some direction.
so i am working on some poster ideas they just contain the sentence "my muse is" with the hopes that people would be willing to fill in the rest

so my muse is...

i am so tired of sewing...

dollar enchilada night is my favorite night of the week

ive been cranking on making lots of scarves to sell
i letterpressed some pretty tags today and got a nice pine green color yarn in the mail
heres the mustard color one ive been getting good use out of in this awful weather
