Whirlwind

Wow, I have been so busy lately, between classes, homework from classes, AIGA stuff, and having a migraine just about every night from lack of having time to eat.

Sucks that it is only Monday too.

Projects in classes haven't really picked up yet either. There has just been a lot of e-mailing (feeling like I need an iPhone just to check my e-mail constantly). Also a lot of reading, and research.

So I have purchased a lot of books in the recent weeks via Amazon and Chop Suey [which is closing its first location, so go there and support them while getting a great deal on great books!]

I haven't read them through and through but what I have read so far has been pretty inspiring.

No Logo.
A required book for Design Rebels, but so informative!

Michael Bierut's 79 Short Essays on Design.
3 stories in and loving it.
Check out Design Observer for a look at most of the essays.
I like having them in a book since staring at the screen too much can kill my head.

Less is More.
Picked this up at Chop Suey. Haven't had the chance to read it yet but looking forward to it. I mean look at that cover!

Design and Undesign. Not having had a good knowledge of Tibor Kalman but knowing that he was Stefan Sagmeister's idol I wanted to know more. So far this book has been a great starting point to my quest for Tibor knowledge.

So there's my reading rainbow. Hopefully soon more posts on my actual work!

I know what you mean about being so busy, somehow with classes and reading and everything time gets away from you. the books look interesting, any favorites?

No Logo is showing me things you dont normally hear through the news (we just read some chapters on corporations)

And 79 short essays reminds me why I love graphic design, which is easy to forget on these overwhelming days.

also, do I know you?
